Celebrating 10 Years of Connection: Birthdays, Better Productivity and a Founder’s Legacy

What a milestone!

This month’s Women That Connect networking lunch wasn’t just our usual opportunity to build relationships and support local businesses, it was a massive celebration of a whole decade of community.

We gathered at our regular venue, the Ullesthorpe Court Hotel, to mark the 10th Birthday of Women That Connect. That is ten years of bringing local businesswomen together, facilitating genuine referrals and cultivating a completely pressure-free environment where women can truly thrive in business.

As we enjoyed our cake and lunch, the room was packed with incredible energy and two brilliant 10th-anniversary spotlight speakers.

Here is a look back at what made this month’s meeting so unforgettable.

A Heartfelt Reflection: Honouring Our Founder, Debbie Heron

The highlight of our birthday celebrations was a special 6-minute spotlight from our guest of honour, the recently retired founder of Women That Connect, Debbie Heron. Debbie took us on a moving trip down memory lane, sharing the original vision behind setting up the group ten years ago. She reflected on how much the Leicestershire and Hinckley business landscape has evolved and she expressed her immense pride in seeing the group continue to blossom into the trusted, exclusive network it is today. While Debbie is enjoying her well-deserved retirement, her legacy remains the heartbeat of our community!

Special Mention

Flowers were presented to 2 of our longest serving members who’ve been here since the beginning! Thank you Rachel and Lisa for your continuing professionalism, warmth and support.

Productivity Hacks: The Pomodoro Technique with Tillie from Bloom Assistants

Next up on the spotlight stage was Tillie, the brilliant owner of Bloom Assistants. Tillie shared a masterclass in time management, introducing the room to the famous Pomodoro technique, a productivity method that breaks work down into hyper-focused intervals separated by short breaks to optimise your daily programme.

Tillie explained how she and her Virtual Assistant team dynamically employ this technique with their own clients to cut out digital noise, beat procrastination and efficiently get massive tasks completed.

It was a fantastic reminder of how changing the way we structure our time can completely revolutionise our business output!

Thank You to Our Incredible Visitors and Members

A birthday is nothing without the people who show up to share it. We want to extend a massive thank you to all of our long-standing members, our dedicated substitutes and the fantastic visitors who joined us for this milestone meeting.

The collaborative, supportive energy in the room was a perfect testament to what Women That Connect is all about.
