July Women That Connect Meeting: Keeping Cool, Connecting and Shining Bright

What an absolutely incredible afternoon we had at our latest Women That Connect monthly networking lunch!

It took place on Wednesday, July 8th during one of the hottest days of the year so far. While the summer heat was blazing outside, we were incredibly grateful for the crisp air conditioning at the BEST WESTERN PLUS Ullesthorpe Court Hotel & Golf Club, which kept us all feeling cool, refreshed and completely ready to dive into some high-energy connecting.

Introducing Our Brand-New “6-Minute Spotlight” Section

This month’s meeting was an extra special milestone for us because we officially debuted our brand-new 6-Minute Spotlight format!

We designed this fresh addition to ensure that every single member gets their dedicated moment to shine and showcase their business to the room. It was an absolute success and the energy during this segment was buzzing. We cannot wait to see how this continues to help our members elevate their businesses in the months to come!

July’s 6 Minute Spotlights by 2 Established Members

Our new spotlight segment was a packed schedule with two fantastic and deeply impactful presentations:

  • Financial Literacy for the Future: Our Financial Adviser Member, Stephanie Smith DipPFS. SOLLA. challenged the entire room with some incredibly eye-opening questions regarding later-life planning. By the time she finished her questions, very few hands remained raised! It served as a powerful reminder of how vital it is to truly understand retirement funding, care and financial products. Because Steph is Society of Later Life Advisers (SOLLA) accredited, she holds highly specialised qualifications and extensive knowledge in this field, making her insights invaluable to us all.
  • Stepping Up for a Cause: Our Charity seat is held by Charity Link and our Member Rachel Markham inspired everyone in attendance with details on the upcoming Charity Link Official Leicestershire 3 Peaks Challenge. Rachel shared the many ways our community can get involved, whether that’s registering to hike the peaks, volunteering to steward on the day or supporting the incredible fundraisers making a difference.

Our members left the room feeling completely engaged, inspired and deeply educated.

A Summer Feast (and a Small Regret!)

To wrap up a truly great afternoon, we were treated to our brand-new Summer Menu. I am kicking myself for not taking any photos because my Glazed Halloumi and Beetroot Salad was absolutely to die for!

A massive, heartfelt thank you goes out to the team at Ullesthorpe Court Hotel for looking after us so well and serving up such delicious meals despite the challenging summer heat.

Lock in Your Spot for August!

Don’t miss out on the magic of our next monthly meeting. We offer a seat-exclusivity membership format, meaning you are the only business type in the room, completely free from direct competitors. Once a category is filled, it’s locked in!
